Atomic Simao

Atomic Simao, the people of Kiev know as a young musical group from Ukraine, which has been demonstrating a rather rare, for all bored scenes, psychedelic jazz instrumental performance for several years.
Atomic Simao Wikipedia portal gives us such information that the project was formed relatively recently, and today it is extremely popular. At the Jazz Koktebel festival, he was recognized as a real discovery of the year. In addition, the magazine Kultprostyr recognized the guys as the best underground group of the year.
The Atomic Simao team, which a large number of people are already used to listening to, was formed in 2012 in the capital of Ukraine. After a while, the group did not appear in public. But this did not last long, and soon one could see their performance in the city of Kharkov. It was there that the participants lived with whom the first two music collections were recorded. Then, due to some circumstances, the line-up was changed, and all the musicians moved to Kiev.

Valchuk Grisha is responsible for drum instruments, Gavrilenko Nikita is responsible for bass, Dmitry Dudko is the saxophonist, Andrei Volkov - pads, keys, fx, Andrey Dvoryashin - percussion, guitarist - Zhenya Sofiychuk. Everything is realized by just such a team. Musicians consider themselves as one whole, they do everything together.
The project was named spontaneously, thoughtlessly, when the group simply went to Koktebel on the train "Kiev - Feodosia".
Regarding the style of music, we can say that the band plays psychedelic music in conjunction with elements of jazz and rock. If you believe in practice, then each of the group's admirers perceives their genre differently.
Surprisingly, virtually all of the participants are self-taught and have no musical education. Only Andrey studied for a drummer for 3 years at a music school. The best teacher for them is the music they prefer.
Atomic Simao considers music to be their calling. From an early age they began to engage in this direction. But this does not mean at all that they cannot simultaneously do something else. For example, Nikita also manages projects in Tema Lebedev's studio.
The group has repeatedly received various awards and prizes, participated in festivals and competitions. But these awards are not critical to them. It is much more important for the participants that they are listened to by people of different ages and generations, that they are liked by everyone, from 14-year-olds to 60-year-olds.
In terms of performers, the group also has those who inspire them, but they cannot be called idols. Each of the musicians who delight the team has their own era. Among the most tangible are the following: Led Zeppelin, legendary The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Grand Funk, CAN, Pink Floyd.
Groups from the 90s should not be overlooked either. Atomic Simao is loved by Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Red Snapper, Aphex Twin, Beastie Boys, Coldcut, Beck and Future Sound of London. All of them unanimously changed the minds of the guys and directed them from the point of view of the music being created in the right direction.
